AI email assistants you can text

Find a message, understand what needs a reply, and review a draft from your messaging app. The right fit depends on your email provider and the actions you want to delegate.

What a completed task looks like

Start with a specific thread and a visible result: a cited summary, a saved draft, or a sent reply you approved. Each requires a different level of access.

The decisions that change your shortlist

Writing help or connected inbox help?

If you only want to rewrite a paragraph, you can supply that paragraph yourself. Finding a buried message, reading a thread, or sending from your address requires a connected account and permission for the relevant operation.

What does approval cover?

Ask to see the complete message, recipients, and attachments together. If you revise a draft after approval, review the revised version before it goes out. Check sent mail to establish completion.

Can you disconnect the inbox?

Locate the service's connected-account controls before building recurring workflows. Account disconnection, stopping a scheduled summary, and deleting retained information are separate controls to investigate.

Example first message

Try a reply without losing the thread

Find the latest email from the library about my room reservation. Tell me the sender, subject, and requested response. Draft a short reply asking whether the room has a projector. Show me the full draft and recipients before sending.

How to evaluate the result

  • Confirm it found the latest relevant thread, including any later corrections.
  • Review the intended recipients, wording, and any included attachments.
  • If you approve a send, inspect the sent message in the connected mailbox.

This is a suggested trial, not a transcript or a claim that each service supports every step.

Common questions

Can an AI email assistant send emails from a text?

Some connected assistants can. Caddy and Folk describe approval steps for sending. Read the specific workflow and permission screen; a product that can write a reply does not automatically have permission to send it.

Does using Apple Mail mean I need iCloud support?

No. Apple Mail can display accounts from different providers. Identify the account hosting the mailbox, then compare that provider with the assistant's documented integrations.

Is a morning email summary the same as an inbox assistant?

A summary is one workflow. Search, drafting, sending, labeling, and deleting are separate capabilities. Choose based on the operations you need instead of assuming that every email integration supports all of them.
