The state of AI you can text

An inventory of what is listed, how people get access, and what the public sources say. These counts describe the textanai catalog, not the entire AI market.

What this snapshot shows

23 of 55 listed products publish a phone contact in our records. Others require signup, account access, beta admission, or infrastructure setup. The directory includes consumer assistants, specialist products, and developer infrastructure; those are different types of access, not interchangeable products.

Channel totals overlap because one product can support several channels. A listed channel does not mean every feature is available there, and a published phone number is not proof that the service is responding today.

Reply-time research is still pending

We have not published a set of first-hand test conversations. There is no measured median reply time or success rate to report. Source descriptions such as “instant” or “real-time” are not measurements and are excluded from this report.

Method and limits

  • The snapshot counts one record per product ID and excludes the directory concept Caltext. It includes voice-only contacts and clearly labels them in the reference list.
  • This snapshot is frozen from the catalog on September 23, 2026; the live listings may later change. Categories and access paths are mutually exclusive; channels are not.
  • Individual source-check dates are retained. The report date is the date this analysis was prepared, not a claim that all sources were checked that day.
  • This is the first report. We do not yet have a comparable monthly snapshot, so no month-over-month growth claims are made.

Use the public-number reference and downloadable contact data to inspect individual records. See the listing methodology for sourcing standards.
